Hollywood star Zac Efron has said he would love to perform on London’s West End stage but only if it was the right role.

The 22-year-old actor, who shot to fame playing the lead role in the High School Musical movie series, was in London for the UK premiere of his new film Me and Orson Welles.

Asked about the possibility of appearing on stage in the West End, he said: “It’s finding the right opportunity. I would want it to be great, so I’d have to choose carefully.”

Other US actors that have cross the Pond to appear in the West End include Josh Hartnett, Ashlee Simpson and Christian Slater.
