Lady Gaga has said she wanted to show herself bleeding to death during her recent MTV performance.

The 23-year-old singer, who will be performing in front of the British Queen next month, shocked audiences when she performed covered in blood at the VMAs in September.

She said to MTV News: “For my MTV performance, I still keep learning about what I was trying to say.

“I just knew I had to bleed to death for four minutes on TV, and I remember telling MTV, and they were really quiet on the other end of the line.

“And it was silent, and then they said: ‘OK, Gaga, we’re gonna make it happen. If that’s your vision, were gonna do it’.”
