Singer Joss Stone has hit out at Russell Brand and called him a “disgusting pig”.

The 22-year-old first fell out with the British comic in 2007 at the Brit Awards when she stormed the stage to defend his comments about Robbie Williams’ rehab treatment.

She said to UK newspaper The Independent: “He’s a disgusting pig. Mean, mean, mean. What he said about Robbie was horrible. You can’t kick someone when they’re down… But that’s the kind of person Russell Brand is. He’s just unpleasant. I just think some people are genuinely nasty characters, and he’s one of them.”

She also told of her disapproval at Kanye West’s behaviour towards teen singer Taylor Swift at the recent MTV awards bash.

She said: “What Russell Brand did to Robbie is just like what Kanye did to Taylor. I don’t care how talented you are: doing things like that is not nice. So f*** off… Kanye just wants attention.”
